Haran (sometimes written Harran) was an ancient city in which God appeared to Abraham and called him to move to Canaan. Years later, his grandson Jacob was on his way to Haran when God appeared to him at Bethel. Haran comes from ancient words meaning road or crossroad... a place to meet... a changed direction... a journey together.
Our Founder
Whatever road you face, Towards Haran is with you.
Our Founder Peter James is at home in both not-for-profit and corporate environments. Before founding Towards Haran, he was group CEO of a large national organisation, leading through a period of challenges, growth, mergers and transformational change. Before that, Peter was a partner in a leading international law firm. He is married, with five adult children.

Sue Hanlon, Executive Consultant
Sue is a gifted executive and leader, with a strong track record in building and resourcing teams, and creating internal alignment and efficiency. Among her leadership roles, Sue has been a Chief of Staff for a national organisation with more than 1000 employees, and brings a unique blend of spiritual gifts, pastoral skill and MBA talents that benefit those we serve at Towards Haran. Sue is married to Matt, with 4 adult daughters.
